The Swifts are an edgy pop-punk quartet from Denver, Colorado. The group formed in 2013 when, as friends, they started talking about their musical influences and their interest in performing together. The original concept of the band focused on covering music from the 80s and 90s, and rearranging the tunes in an up-beat, punk style. The band has since changed gears a bit and these days focuses mainly on original material. Their first recording, “The Swifts EP” came out in 2016, and their first full length CD, “All Sunshine” was released in 2018. Two of the original founding members are still part of the group, while other members have rotated in-and-out. Although The Swifts have changed drummers several times, the band insists that there is no Spinal Tap curse on the drummers and that spontaneous combustion almost never happens. The four members of The Swifts have very diverse musical backgrounds, but have found a common interest in original pop-punk. Mike plays guitar and is the lead vocalist with the band. He is the original “punk rocker” of the group and is still occasionally seen at the local skateboard park. Rob is the lead guitarist, and despite his calm demeanor, has toured and shredded with notable metal bands back in the day. Jason plays the bass and has been seen jamming on the back of a semi-trailer, for what it’s worth. Dwayne is the drummer and is thankful to not have spontaneously combusted. He also drums in a bagpipe band, and was formerly a percussion instructor for a local Denver high school. So, there you have it… The Swifts! Colorado’s Edgy Pop Punk Band!
